About The Role
Our
Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a
Planner to join our £1.2 billion
Lower Thames Crossing project, consisting of 43 bridges, including
viaducts, 17km of
complex Highways construction, complex utility diversions, and a scheme-wide, industry leading approach to
carbon reduction.
Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.
The
BIM Manager will make sure that the Project CAD Standards are adhered to and also develop and manage the CAD team and undertake audit reports on a regular basis to ensure project compliance.
What you'll be doing
- Educate people, develop/implement the Information Execution Plan and use technology during stages 5- 6 to develop model(s)
- Ensure that the Project CAD Standards are adhered to and also develop and manage the CAD team and undertake audit reports on a regular basis
- Undertake CAD work to support the team and meet project milestones.
- Working with the project team and Supply Chain members for the use and development of the Project Information Model Graphical and Non-Graphical (3D Model)
- Working with the project team to implement processes/culture/technology so that Programme can be linked to the Detailed Design Model i.e. 4D for Construction and own/support
- Working with the project team to implement processes/culture/technology so that costs can be linked to the Model i.e. 5D for Construction and own/support, and an As Built model is created for Handover and Commissioning
- Working with the project team to implement processes/culture/technology so that Asset Information/data can be linked to the model producing a 6D Model for Handover and Commissioning and own/support
Who we're looking for
- 5-7 years industry previous experience in a similar role.
- Develop models to identify Health & Safety risks in line with relevant standards
- Understanding of Security Management as per relevant standards and able to communicate with IT teams
- Ability to assess Supplier Partnership capabilities on BIM enabled projects and advise the Procurement team
- Professional membership is desirable
- BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or qualified by experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or Building managing multiple processes / schemes
