INTERNAL VACANCY
The post-holder is responsible for providing, collating and verifying high quality and timely clinical data to support clinical and managerial
processes within the Service and Trust. Clinical data collection and classification is a crucial role in the management of information for the
National Breast Screening Service.
With formal training, the post-holder will have the skills required to collect the necessary clinical information via a wide range of hospital personnel, information systems and case notes for data input/verification to be completed within specified timeframes. The ability to organise and prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and tackle problems systematically is of paramount importance.
To support the Breast Imaging Supervisor to act as IT link for Breast Imaging services, overseeing the CRIS, PACS, IEP, NBSS and BS Select
systems.
To assist the Breast Imaging Supervisor with providing local PACS support for colleagues within breast imaging.
The post is principally based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but the post-holder may be required to travel to other Trust sites within Shropshire.
Main duties of the job
Liaise with the Breast Imaging Office Manager (BIOM), PACS/RIS Manager to inform them of any problems with incomplete or inaccurate data, to find satisfactory solutions with the aim of collecting data to enable episodes to be completed satisfactorily.
Regularly produce information, statistics and CRIS/crystal reports, regarding radiological performance data, at a prescribed time to monitor data input and Service performance against regional/national standards and targets in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure that all referrals from Genetics and other areas of women that are at ‘very higher risk’ of breast cancer are registered onto NBSS and the
appropriate spreadsheet to agreed protocols. Provide the University Hospitals of North midlands with all referrals eligible for MRI and MRI and Mammography to be imaged in accordance with the NHSBSP guidelines.
Liaise with the Family History clinician ensuring that women at higher risk are coordinated within the NHSBSP
