We're looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our friendly Building Services Team. In this hands-on role, you'll carry out a mix of routine maintenance, electrical repairs, and small installation projects across our department's buildings. You'll be our go-to expert for electrical work, working alongside a small, supportive team to keep our research and teaching spaces running smoothly and safely.
What You'll Do
- Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs (planned and reactive).
- Support with minor electrical installations and upgrades.
- Work in a range of settings ¿ from labs and offices to plant rooms.
- Help maintain the overall building and equipment with the team.
- Be part of a 24/7 emergency call-out rota (as a key holder).
- Keep disruptions to a minimum during busy research and teaching times.
What We're Looking For
- Working towards or having obtained a recognised electrical qualification.
- Up-to-date knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Experience working with single and three-phase systems.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using electrical testing tools and meters.
- A positive, practical attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
