Role Description
To learn, develop and provide HVAC system design service, advice and technical support for our growing Solutions business. Design cost-effective and energy efficient systems for building services such as air conditioning, heating, ventilation and domestic hot water. Play a leading role in developing the company’s technical competence and design capability. To participate in and eventually lead technical discussions with our key suppliers, customers & industry associations.
The role will require excellent organisation skills and a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
1. Ensuring that the electrical, mechanical and telecoms aspects of our products perform effectively and efficiently with all the functional characteristics of a building
2. Design the Unico air conditioning system, under floor heating and domestic hot water systems. Including integration with associated supplier products and smart controls.
3. Liaise with our key suppliers, customers and industry associations to ensure full compliance with current UK building regulations, CIBSE and SAP assessments.
4. Help select and source appropriate design software and project management tools
5. Provide technical support and documentation for our associated products and training facilities
6. Designing the layout of energy distribution, water pipes, ventilation systems, electrical wiring and identifying relevant materials
7. Drawing up plans using computer-aided design and building information modelling software
8. Making sure that all our products and services meet health and safety requirements, UK building regulations and environmental legislation
9. Liaising with plumbers, electricians, surveyors, architectural technologists and other construction professionals
10. Provide input to company presentations, reports & supporting documentation
11. Provide excellent customer service: telephone manner, verbal & written communication
Qualifications
Qualifications and training required but not essential
Building service level 1 apprenticeship. Accredited or association with an appropriate professional body, such as CIBSE or CIPHE.
Industry-related work experience would be a benefit but not essential.
