Business Analyst

Job Title: Technical Business Analyst - Fund Management

Location: London - Hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days from home)

Day Rate: £450 - £500 per day (Inside IR35)

Start Date: Looking for someone immediately available

Job Type: 6 Month Rolling Contract

We're looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a front office investment team within the Fund Management space. You will play a pivotal role in translating 'Epic'-level requirements into fully defined and actionable User Stories, working closely with Product Owner and Development teams to drive effective delivery.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Decompose and translate high‑level Epics into detailed User Stories and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and prioritise the Product Backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
• Lead design workshops with technical teams, ensuring user stories capture robust, implementable solutions.
• Guide developers and testers to understand requirements clearly prior to development.
• Take ownership of Epics and User Stories from analysis through to production release, including defect and backlog management.
• Create BDD feature files to support automated testing of business logic and data flows.
• Analyse and define data requirements for optimal data structure, including proficiency with SQL, XML data sets and schema, and tools like Swagger.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Must have worked as a Business Analyst within a Fund Management environment, supporting front‑office functions (investment management, analytics, trading).
• Extensive experience with the Charles River platform (including CRIMS data model and Client APIs).
• Strong technical data background, with hands‑on experience extracting, manipulating, and defining data requirements (SQL, XML, Swagger).
• Skilled in Agile environments, including backlog management, story writing, and BDD.
• Experience working with data services is highly advantageous.
