Your Role And Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with specific expertise in the public sector to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements, ensuring alignment with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and User-Centered Design (UCD) principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements in the public sector setting.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional teams in translating business needs into functional and technical specifications adhering to GDS guidelines.
  • Contribute to the creation of business cases, process flows, and user stories, prioritizing user-centered approach.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Design concept journeys, blueprints, and roadmaps that communicate how the total user experience can be elevated beyond the immediate product or service.
  • Facilitate the collective understanding of the end-to-end, front-to-back experience by mapping the orchestration of events at the intersection of technology, business, and design.
  • Embed design practices within the organization to create a sustainable approach to service the needs of the user.
  • Work with User Researchers to generate insights through research with users, staff, and stakeholders to shape a holistic view of the total user experience.
  • Analyze, consolidate, and communicate research findings to stakeholders in order to strategically frame, validate, and quantify the problem being solved and help inform the wider strategic roadmap of initiatives.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Proven experience in business analysis and requirements gathering within the public sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • GDS compliance knowledge and understanding of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.

  • Experience with business analysis tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience in service design within a government or public sector context.
  • Proficiency in using design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.
  • Experience with prototyping tools like InVision, Marvel, or Proto.io.
  • Knowledge of GDS Service Manual, Digital Principles, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Certifications in UCD, such as the International Interaction Design Foundation's Interaction Design or UX Design Specialization, are highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
