Role Summary
As a Business Analyst for Manufacturing Applications, you will serve as the linchpin of our internal Application Management team partnering with stakeholders in our Product Delivery Function to create scalable, efficient, and user centric workflows. The core systems in this unit include:
- Laboratory Information Management (LIMS)
- Labelling solutions e.g. Nicelabel
- Asset management and maintenance management
- Process Information Management (IDBS PIMS)
- Electronic Batch Record
- D365 (Supply Chain & Inventory Management)
You will gather and define requirements, design solutions alongside architects and manage the successful delivery of application capabilities that drive measurable outcomes. This is a highly collaborative role, where youll be expected to become a trusted advisor and mentor within the team, ensuring business needs are understood and delivered through world-class solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with IT Business Partners, Business System Owners and other stakeholders in the Product Delivery Organisation to understand and document business requirements
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories, working closely with system administrators, solutions architects, and vendors.
- Act as Product Owner proxy in Agile ceremonies owning backlog grooming, story refinement, sprint planning, and UAT coordination.
- Partner closely with PMO in new technical implementations and enhancements, test case development, test execution, change control documentation, and validation as well as hyper care planning.
- Create current-state and future-state process maps, identifying opportunities to optimize workflows and reduce manual effort
- Collaborate with internal IT, QA, QC, CSV, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory, data privacy, and GxP standards
- Coordinate across regions (UK, US, EU) to harmonize processes and system use
- Contribute to vendor evaluation and help hold external partners accountable for delivery and SLA adherence
- Develop, Track and Report KPIs that help to measure the health of the applications.
Experience
Demonstrated skills and competencies
- Proven track record as a Business Analyst or in a similar role within life sciences, with strong expertise supporting commercial teams and tools
- Hands-on experience with large, cross-functional implementations and ideally with platforms mentioned above.
- Deep familiarity with process mapping, user story writing, UAT planning, and hyper care planning.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience working in or supporting GxP, SOX, or GDPR-governed environments
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; ability to bridge technical and nontechnical discussions.
- Comfortable working across time zones with globally distributed teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
Skills/Specialist Knowledge
- Bonus: Experience with CAR-T, oncology, or cell therapy processes and platforms
