About the role
National Energy System Operator’s (NESO) strength lies in our people. Together, we’re shaping the future where clean, affordable energy is accessible for all. Every day is an opportunity to make a real difference, accelerating the progress of sustainable GB energy, keeping people connected and society thriving as we create a brighter tomorrow.
This is an exciting and influential role within the Business Intelligence & Change team and a chance to shape and drive meaningful, lasting data, reporting and insight transformation. Your work will unlock real business value — minimising disruption, accelerating adoption, and embedding change that sticks.
Reporting to the Business Intelligence & Change Manager, you’ll bring your expertise to ensure strategic change is prioritised, well‑managed, and fully embedded. You’ll apply a structured, thoughtful approach to support people through change, empowering them to confidently adopt, embrace, and sustain new behaviours, tools, and processes
This role is based in Warwick and will require some travel to other NESO sites and customers. However, we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home, with an expectation of at least 1 day per week in Warwick. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Key Accountabilities
Lead and support Data, Reporting & Insight change initiatives, developing clear and comprehensive change strategies.

Conduct structured impact assessments and create business readiness statements that clearly articulate the rationale, implications, and required actions for change.
Provide senior stakeholders with confidence that changes are well understood, planned, and set up for successful delivery.
Assess and address people impacts to strengthen readiness and embed new behaviours, processes, and ways of working.
Influence and support line managers and teams with tailored interventions that build capability and improve change maturity across the organisation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of NESO’s change management frameworks and tools.
Partner closely with project and programme leads, sponsors, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure alignment and cohesive delivery.
Foster open communication and collaborative working environments that enable change to land effectively across all levels of NESO.
Track, prioritise, and coordinate strategic initiatives to provide clear visibility of progress across the portfolio.
Apply standard project management techniques to monitor milestones, risks, dependencies, benefits, and KPIs, ensuring meaningful outcomes are realised.
What Success Looks Like
Leaders and teams have clear visibility of progress, risks, change impacts and benefits, with strategic initiatives prioritised, tracked and well understood.
Change lands smoothly, with strong stakeholder buy‑in and confident adoption. Teams understand why change matters and how it supports our business direction.
Delivery feels structured yet adaptable, with the focus firmly on outcomes.
People are equipped, supported and energised to adopt new behaviours and ways of working.
You continue to grow your own capability, building a leading‑edge skill set that keeps NESO & Connections, at the forefront of change delivery.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive, and people‑focused Change & Delivery Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will bring energy, clarity and a collaborative style and someone who enjoys connecting with others and making change feel exciting and achievable.

About The National Energy System Operator (NESO)
In Autumn of 2024, the ESO transitioned to National Energy System Operator, or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO), the new National Energy System Operator is the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system.
The ESO, including all of its existing roles, are now at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO, we will build on our existing roles, capabilities, and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users’ need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors, including electricity, natural gas and hydrogen, and crucially consider the trade-offs between them.
The organisation is set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors, with complete operational independence from government, the regulator and any and all commercial interest. As was the ESO, NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements and obligated to identify optimal solutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainable, affordable and secure way for all.
The time to deliver is now. As part of our team, you won’t just be touching the lives of almost everyone in Great Britain – you’ll be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come.
