This is a remote role covering the North West.
What You Will Do
- As a Business Development Director, you are responsible for delivering the Metro Bank brand and business model for Invoice Finance/Commercial Banking. You will be the face of Metro Bank Invoice Finance.
- The key focus is to grow our Invoice Finance book by creating FANS from business and commercial customers. You will achieve this through business development and promotion of the Metro Bank brand.
- You will consistently deliver an AMAZEING customer service, which in turn will create FANS.
- Your role is to generate new business to the invoice finance team via existing bank customers and prospective customers via direct approaches and introducers (within the bank and externally), to achieve your annual core objectives.
- Your routes to market are bank business and commercial customers, direct to new customers and via referrals from brokers, accountants, and other intermediaries.
- Responsibilities range from business development to relationship building and pipeline management. The ability to build relationships with other departments such as Credit, Business Support and Relationship Management is key.
- You will make recommendations to support Metro Bank’s business objectives whilst reinforcing the correct operational processes, ensuring we get things right first time for the Customer.

What You Will Need
- Knowledge of invoice finance, asset based lending and traditional banking products such as overdrafts, business accounts and term loans.
- A self-starter, with the ability to also work as part of a wider team
- A good listener who is able to demonstrate empathy where needed.
- Inquiring mindset, with an understanding of a balance sheet, P & L and cashflows.
- Able to multitask, managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Love our Values, live our Culture and have a keen interest in our commercial customers and offerings.
- Banking or independent lender background and ideally have held a role(s) within invoice finance sales, or invoice finance relationship management.
- Enjoys business development or relationship manager knowledge and experience.
- Experience interacting with businesses and customers, understanding what they do and how they do it, their financial performance and building strong relationships.
- Experience of ABL outside of receivables only, would be advantageous.
