Job Introduction
We are recruiting for a temporary Business Improvement Specialist, the location can be flexible within one of our NGED’s geographical locations in the South West. You will need to travel across various sites which include Redruth, Bodmin, Plymouth, Devon, North Devon, Somerset, Mendip and Bristol. This is a temporary position for 12 months (subject to review).
You will be responsible for implementing end to end business improvement projects across all areas of the operations business within NGED, to help deliver against our business plan commitments to ensure affordability for our customers, whist also preparing for ED3.
Responsible for developing and piloting new ways of working by finding opportunities, agreeing field improvement options and effectively deploying the changes with colleagues who do the work day to day. This will involve creating new best practices for adoption across the operations teams, establishing new policy, process and ways of working, making sure they are fit for purpose, embedded, and sustained.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.

Along with the above experience you will be able demonstrate you are able to explain and apply techniques for analysing and capturing data and data change requirements, including supporting others in data quality management activities. Be able to work independently, in teams and with multiple stakeholders.
You will have a broad understanding of the NGED business or the ability to grasp quickly along with being able to consistently live our Company Values – do the right thing, find a better way and make it happen.
National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
