Project Overview
As part of a data warehousing system replacement project the bank requires a temporary resource to support the changeover and new system implementation
The candidate should have a demonstrable track record of systems/data warehouse implementation
This role would suit experienced accountants who are bale to bridge the gap between Finance and Technology
Initially a 12 month appointment, with chance of extension
Project Duties will include;
• Quickly develop understanding of the existing financial systems and lead the effort to map the old data structures to the new ones in the data warehouse
• Define the business logic and reporting needs
• Design new processes aiming to automate and improve financial workflows that are dependent on the data warehouse, leading to greater efficiency
• Ensure the integrity of the financial data
• Validate financial output
• Engage senior stakeholders (Finance team, Project Managers, IT, Arab Bank Group, external vendor)
• Organize and manage project meetings, follow up on assigned tasks and act as bridge between business units and IT
• Deep dive into multiple datasets, identify similarities and differences and understand the data logics behind the numbers
• Create process flows, document reporting formats/data points and map various datasets together using primary / unique keys
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
• Have understanding of finance function, preferable in the banking sector
• Extensive experience executing hands-on delivery
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and month-end/year-end processes
• Strong analytical skills, reconciliations, data analysis
• Strong communication skills, good team player, attention to detail
• Change management – previous experience in systems projects
• Have prior experience of system change / implementation and project management
• Accounting certifications and/or MBA in Finance or Accounting (part qualification can be considered) highly advantageous
