Description
The purpose of this role is to act as the right-hand to the MD, providing high-level business & strategic support and advice to optimise the effectiveness of their role & delivery of their objectives.

This role is focused on business performance & strategy, maintaining oversight of overall AZP business to support the MD as required. The role will lead the delivery of key tasks and support the development of our business for the future, representing the interests of the ExCo, acting as a communication interface to various stakeholders both within the UK and the wider Allianz Group.

This is a hybrid role based out of our London Gracechurch St office.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £61,000 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Maintain an oversight of key activities taking place in the business to help inform & prioritise the MD’s responsibilities and to support business performance reporting & oversight of objectives.
  • Responsible for drafting the AZP MD report & any other business or performance reporting required where MD is the owner or author.
  • Provide or co-ordinate briefing notes for the MD to ensure feels satisfactorily prepared & aware of any key issues.
  • Manage the objective-setting and performance review process for MD and AZP LT; ensuring MD targets are cascaded to the team & fed into their own objectives (ensuring these are agreed in a timely manner at the start of each year.
  • Tracking performance against objectives throughout the year and providing data for mid and end of year reviews.
  • Responsible for target/performance report required on a monthly basis to check progress against MD objectives throughout the year. Highlighting any areas that may need additional action or escalation to drive results.
  • Close focus on preparation for SD & PD, oversight of timescales & attendance to all related meetings to oversee packs, feedback & agreed actions.
  • Involved in M&A discussions, and the due diligence/valuation of potential strategic targets
  • Support with regulatory correspondence & requests for information as required.
  • Oversight of SM&CR responsibilities and support to AZP LT with governance documents, changes to teams/role and oversight of the process for any application to the regulator.
  • Responsible for ensuring current delegated authorities, statements of responsibility are in place & FCA reasonable steps requirements are met.

  • High level researching and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of the UK Insurance Market.
  • Ability to deliver presentations effectively and confidently.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Comfortable preparing reports and presentations.
  • Continuing professional development, with experience working in the finance and/or insurance sector
  • Proven track record of demonstrating effective planning, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Has a strong commercial awareness and knowledge of the UK Insurance Market.
  • Experience of building and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Record of showing strong political awareness, flexibility in the face of shifting workloads, and using own initiative to ensure work is delivered beyond the role’s requirements.
  • Experience of project management and delivering presentations effectively are important.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot.
