The business management team are responsible for the overall smooth running of each of the product categories that MX operates. Responsible for the pricing, revenue reporting and tracking, detailed analysis, forecasting, budgeting, profitability and tracking core strategic Key Performance Indicators; This is a key, cross functional role that sits at the very heart of the business
Role And Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
- Core objectives and responsibilities of the business manager include;
- Engaging with the wider SEUK MX team (Leadership Team, Sales, Product Management, SCM, CFM, Finance & HQ) responsibility for the measurement and clear communication of performance against core business Key Performance Indicators within the product category. Examples of this include ; Smartphone, Wearable and Accessories.
- Net revenue/SD/Profit planning and reporting in a consistent framework
- Management of the MX Revenue simulation tool (EOP).
- Calculating and managing prices for the entire product catalogue within the category, clearly communicating these to Sales Account and Product teams.
- Responsibility for the long term business forecasting process from target setting to communication to key partners. A key part of this is includes the organisation and management of the Shilheng and Sokbo processes (these being the core financial planning processes for Samsung).
- Key and primary contact for financial operation and performance for the product category
- Supporting the wider Strategy and Central Operations team to produce and utilise core data sets to inform and set the mid-long term strategy
- Seek out ways to improve overall business governance and efficiency, such as working with the wider teams on automating business tasks and processes.
- Problem solve and perform ad-hoc reporting to a high standard
- Provide structure and oversight and direction to the SEUK MX business, ensuring that the strategy and the relevant actions and Key Performance Indicators that are agreed by being implemented.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent quantitative modelling skills with a strong eye for detail
- Accuracy and diligence in both building processes and producing an end product
- Strong familiarity and ability with SAP and IT systems
- Confident and influential to effectively collaborate with internal partners
- Highly numerical and analytical with ability to convert data into business intelligence.
- Ability to present insights and propose recommendations to senior management
- Comfortable working as both an individual contributor and also as part of a wider team
- Strong commercial foresight gained from experience in retail or telecom business
- Flexibility thinking and approach, the understanding that different situations may require different solutions.
- Comfortable working under time pressure and short deadlines
- The ability to create a story from data, to effectively communicate its meaning
- Confident and enjoys working with ambiguity.
