The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Reporting to the COO, Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams’ aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.
Technology Governance is responsible for defining Technology-wide standards, controls and reporting to ensure the Technology business is operating effectively and meeting its financial, strategic, assurance and regulatory obligations. The area covers Technology Strategy & Planning, Risk and Controls, Business Resilience, IT Service Continuity and Enterprise Architecture.
Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders to confirm business continuity plans are fit for purpose and published
- Ensure critical processes are understood with respect to people, locations, data, systems and third parties – including target recovery times and data recovery points
- Coordinate business recovery exercises, walk-throughs to ensure response plans are tested, and provisions are appropriate / risks highlighted
- Risk identification and tracking of remediation.
- Coordinate monthly reporting metrics
- Ensure local resilience stakeholders are aware of obligations and supported.
- Develop and manage content on the Business Continuity SharePoint / Intranet site
- Support and maintain the incident communications framework. Develop emergency communication test schedule.
- Coordinate and report on the Operational Resilience deliverables in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Horizon scanning for new continuity threats to the organisation.
- Ensure critical systems are outlined within response plans and ensure appropriately tested by the Technology teams.
- Support Due Diligence responses and client queries relating to the organisation’s resilience.
Skills And Experience
- Practical experience of supporting a Business Continuity function in a regulated environment.
- Associate Membership of the Business Continuity Institute is desirable.
- Practical understanding of the Regulatory Operational Resilience obligations.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment and with stakeholders across Operational Risk, Technology, Audit and Compliance.
- Experience of authoring process and procedure documentation.
