The Business Solutions Architect works with the Design & Data Lead to define the blueprint (technology, data & processes) for Zodiac’s digital systems. You will design and describe the solution. You will be key in building the bridge between the business needs and the technology solution, outlining each of the phases and requirements required to make that solution work.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in managing large-scale transformation projects, focusing on the business aspects of solutions while ensuring they align with the broader enterprise architecture. The Business Solution Architect serves as the critical link between business goals and architectural strategy, working closely with the Chief Architect to drive successful transformation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities And Primary Deliverables
To be successful in the role you will need to,
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand the core objectives of the transformation project, including process improvements, new business models, or customer experience enhancements.
- Collect and analyse business requirements to ensure they are aligned with the overall goals of the transformation and the strategic architecture vision.
- Work closely with the Chief Architect to translate the enterprise’s long-term architecture vision into actionable business solutions that drive transformation.
- Develop high-level solution designs that meet the goals of the transformation project, ensuring that they are scalable and flexible to accommodate future growth or changes.
- Focus on delivering innovative solutions that support the transformation, whether it's process optimization, new customer engagement models, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure that all transformation initiatives are aligned with the enterprise architecture principles, guidelines, and strategic roadmap established by the Chief Architect.
- Coordinate with the Chief Architect to assess how the transformation impacts the existing technical infrastructure and enterprise systems.
- Ensure that the new solutions integrate seamlessly with current systems while facilitating the desired business transformation.
- Lead the reengineering of business processes to support the transformation, ensuring that the new workflows align with the technology solutions being proposed.
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and design new workflows that enhance productivity, customer satisfaction, or operational efficiency.
- Act as a key liaison between business units, IT, and the Chief Architect’s office, ensuring smooth communication and alignment during the transformation project.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure they are engaged throughout the project and that their input is reflected in the solution design.
- Risk and Impact Analysis:
- Collaborate with the Chief Architect to assess the potential risks and impacts of transformation solutions on the organization’s existing architecture, systems, and operations.
- Propose mitigation strategies for any risks identified, ensuring that the transformation project does not compromise the stability or security of current systems.
- Monitor the performance of new solutions post-implementation, ensuring they are delivering the expected business benefits and supporting the transformation.
- Recommend ongoing improvements to the Chief Architect and stakeholders based on performance data and evolving business needs.

Relevant experience & education
- In-depth understanding of how large-scale business transformations work, including process reengineering, digital transformation, and organizational change.
- Ability to design solutions that enable significant business changes, such as shifting to new business models, entering new markets, or adopting new technologies.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and how they can be applied to support transformation initiatives.
- Ability to work closely with the Chief Architect to ensure that all solutions adhere to the broader architectural strategy and technical roadmap.
- Experience in redesigning business processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction as part of a transformation project.
- Ability to translate business goals into optimized workflows that are supported by new technologies and systems.
- Proven ability to work with diverse teams across business and IT, ensuring that transformation initiatives are aligned with both business goals and architectural guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Experience in managing the human and organizational side of transformation, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and systems.
- Ability to work with the Chief Architect to lead change management efforts and minimize resistance to new solutions.
- Ability to identify risks associated with large-scale transformation projects and work with the Chief Architect to develop strategies for managing those risks.
- Ability to lead transformation initiatives by guiding cross-functional teams and providing direction on the business aspects of solution design.
- Clear communication skills to explain the impact of business transformation solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adjust plans and solutions in response to changing business needs or unexpected challenges during the transformation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify bottlenecks in the current business processes and develop innovative solutions for transformation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related fields. An advanced degree (MBA, etc.) is preferred for complex transformation projects.
- 7-10+ years of experience in business solution design, transformation initiatives, or enterprise architecture roles, with a focus on large-scale projects.
- Experience working on digital transformation, process optimization, or other large-scale business change projects.
- Certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are advantageous.
