The Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of a portfolio of products, raising and expediting Purchase Orders, negotiating favourable terms with suppliers and evaluating opportunities to add value. What You Will Do
- Complete tendering exercises with current and prospective suppliers, selecting the MEAT based on various factors such as price, quality and lead time
- Raise and expedite Purchase Orders as per MRP requirements and Purchase Requisitions for multiple RMSpumptools factories
- Evaluate and mitigate supply risk factors which could negatively impact operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to manage inventory levels based on historical and demand forecasting
- Implement and manage call-off orders where appropriate to secure pricing, reduce working capital impact and ensuring security of supply
- Proactively research and present opportunities for adding value
- Support Procurement Management with the implementation of effective supplier relationship and performance management on a global scale
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in a buying role, ideally in an engineering and manufacturing environment
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Good financial and analytical skills
- Detail-orientated, organized and able to balance strategic thinking with daily tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Achieved, or working towards CIPS or an equivalent
