What’s the role?
As Cabinet Executive Officer, you’ll support the Mayor and Cabinet Members to deliver on their priorities. You’ll manage casework, prepare briefings and speeches, and act as a key liaison between elected members, officers and external partners.

What We’re Looking For
You’re politically astute, highly organised, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You’ll support Cabinet Members with high-quality briefings, policy and research advice, and coordinate across senior stakeholders with confidence and discretion. You’re a skilled communicator - able to write compelling briefings, speeches and correspondence under pressure. You’ll bring clarity to complex issues, maintain strong networks, and stay ahead of policy developments. With a calm, professional approach and a passion for public service, you’ll help drive delivery on key priorities for Lewisham’s residents. If you’re proactive, collaborative and ready to make a difference - this is your opportunity.
Location
The role is primarily based at Laurence House in Catford (SE6 4RU), just 15 minutes from central London by train. We operate a hybrid working model, giving you the flexibility to work from home and the office. You’ll also have the opportunity to get out across the borough and the capital alongside Cabinet Members - supporting them at meetings, community events, and key engagements that shape the future of Lewisham.

Salary
£42,861 - £44,430 per annum (PO1) (This will increase by 3.2% in September 2025)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
