Job Overview

We are excited to be advertising a 7/8a Development post for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist to join Flintshire CAMHS. This is a full-time and permanent post. A relocation package is available.

Flintshire CAMHS offers a 0-18 service to children, young people and families. We provide early intervention and prevention services, an Early Years 0-7 service and a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions. We are a dynamic and committed multidisciplinary team. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have good relationships.

We have excellent links with the Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme and provide regular placements and training.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can evidence their passion for this area of work and their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.

The successful candidate will have an individual development plan to support their progress towards achieving the required competencies to fulfill the requirements for a substantive 8a post. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Clinical Psychologist. They will undertake assessments and deliver appropriate therapeutic and formulation based interventions. They will promote psychological thinking and formulation within our multidisciplinary team. In line with the development of competencies, the successful candidate will offer consultation to multi-agency professionals and families, supervision of others and leadership via training and service development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this position; equal welcome is extended to Welsh and/or English speakers to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Honours Degree in Psychology
  • Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Desirable criteria

  • Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills
  • Demonstration of further specialist training / experience through having received extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Head of Clinical Psychology Services

  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
