We are looking for experienced registered mental health CNWL colleagues, ideally Mental Health Nurse(s) and/or Family & Systemic Psychotherapist(s)!
We have arare opportunity to join our friendly and highly skilled award-winning CAMHS home treatment team.
We offer a range of assessment and treatment interventions in the community to adolescents who would otherwise be admitted to an inpatient general adolescent unit (GAU).
The primary role is to provide direct clinical assessment, treatment and care coordination to clients and their families. We do not have any waiting lists for what we offer and are resourced to ensure that caseloads are sustainable.
ACTS covers a large patch geographically: Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. The work is fast-paced and challenging and the team is highly skilled, cohesive and keen to support each other. We offer excellent supervision and ongoing training opportunities and the team is warm and inclusive.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking enthusiastic and confident registered clinicians with a demonstrable track record of working within the NHS, ideally within CAMHS, who can provide high quality evidence-based assessments and interventions.
We have two roles available and these are suitable for a Mental Health Nurse and / or Systemic Family Psychotherapist with the requisite professional registration.

The team is based at the Monks Park Health Centre in Wembley.
Your role will involve developing and delivering a wide range of interventions, projects and system changes with the aim of supporting children and young people with mental health issues or emotional disorders. In addition to providing comprehensive consultations, assessment, risk management and interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties, the post-holder will also clinically supervise students/colleagues. Supervision training will be provided where required.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- To provide timely assessment and treatment for young people with serious mental health needs that present in crisis and may present a significant risk to themselves and /or others.
- To ensure effective management of high risk cases in the community to prevent psychiatric in-patient admissions wherever possible and appropriate.
- To work closely with inpatient colleagues to facilitate a timely discharge from inpatient provision to ensure that the length of admission is kept to a minimum.
- To assess the needs and risk of young people referred into the service and make decisions regarding the suitability for intensive community treatment or inpatient admission, liaising with colleagues as necessary.
- To create suitable care plans and safety plans to ensure young people receive appropriate treatment in the community.
- To liaise closely with colleagues to ensure effective transition between services.
- To promote the safeguarding and welfare of young people.
- To facilitate and support the step and step down process of clinical intervention, ensuring that young people are at the heart of decisions concerning their care and movement between levels of intervention.
- To have a strong commitment to patient participation and ensure that this is central to all practice within the scope of their work.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification in either Nursing, OT, Family & Systemic Psychotherapy
- UK Professional registration with the appropriate recognized body - HCPC/NMC/UKCP
Desirable criteria
- Additional training in interventions such as e.g. DBT, Systemic Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, CBT, TF-CBT,EMDR, NET, Psychodynamic / psychoanalytic psychotherapy
- Full and current UK driving license
- Diploma/BSc in relevant clinical areas
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Specialist knowledge of child development and child and adolescent mental health disorders.
- Skills in assessment, care planning and case management
- High levels of skill in risk assessment and management
- Ability to deliver evidence based treatment packages of care.
- Knowledge of psychoeducation, counselling skills, group skills, cognitive skills, and behavioral skills
- Sound understanding of child, adolescent and family dynamics
- Knowledge of mental health legislation and current practice and experience of its application
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications, medication management and monitoring and awareness of medication effects and side effects.
- Ability to engage young people and families.
- Knowledge of recent developments in CAMHS.
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application in practice.
- Knowledge of Child Protection principles and awareness.

Essential criteria
- Post qualification and registration experience of working with adolescents / young people
- Experience of working with young people with highly complex mental health needs, high levels of emotional distress and risk-taking behaviours, including self-harm and attempted suicide.
- Experience of specialist assessment and treatment of young people with serious mental health problems who are in crisis.
- Experience of undertaking risk assessment and risk management.
- Experience in the delivery of psychological therapy.
- Experience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in emotionally demanding and distressing situations.
- Experience of providing specialist advice to other professionals.
- Experience of providing teaching and training.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of implementing and monitoring standards of care
