Interested in a career in CAMHS? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join Hounslow CAMHS.

The successful applicant will join the will join the Hounslow CAMHS Neuro-developmental Team which is based at Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health, 92 Bath Rd, Hounslow, TW3 3EL.

The Hounslow Neuro-developmental Team is part of the Tier 3 Hounslow CAMH Service, which also includes an adolescent team, child and family team and Learning Disability Team. The Service also links to a comprehensive Tier 2 CAMH Service, CAMHS Crisis Prevention/Care Team (ALLIANCE) and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. The Neuro-developmental Team is multi-disciplinary, including psychiatry, nursing, family therapy psychology, psychotherapy and social work. The post holder will be part of a growing team of clinicians with a special interest and expertise in working with children, and young people, who are presenting with complex mental health needs.

The CAMH Nurse will also join a thriving team of supportive, committed and skilled nurses who are dedicated to changing the future outcomes for children and young people who present to mental health services.

The CAMH Nurse will work within the Hounslow CAMHS Neuro-developmental Team..

The CAMH Nurse will join the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of clinical assessment and provision of therapy to young people (0-18) and their families and/or carers referred to the team. With supervision and support the CAMH Nurse will provide assessment and intervention, which will include individual and psycho education groups.

As a CAMH Nurse you will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement projects and you will also support student nurses on specialist placement in CAMHS.

Hounslow CAMHS is a borough-located service, and operates as part of a wider three-borough CAMHS service, including Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham, within West London NHS Trust. The Hounslow CAMHS Team is strongly aligned with the core values of the Trust; togetherness, responsibility, excellence, and caring. The Team is committed to providing services that are accessible to everyone, and it prides itself on its creative and innovative ways of delivering high quality evidence based care for children, young people and families referred to the service.

West London CAMHS is committed to supporting the development and progression of its staff. In addition to receiving regular supervision, all staff have access to training and development opportunities in line with their agreed development needs. Staff are also encouraged to be involved in quality improvement projects, audit and research, as well as to take a lead for areas of special interest, such as safeguarding, transitions, SEND.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic West London CAMHS has had to develop new and innovative ways of working. Our staff are currently providing a combination of face to face clinical contact as well as clinical contact via virtual platforms, resulting in a combination of onsite and remote working. All staff are provided with a laptop and mobile phone to support this way of agile working.
