Campaign Manager, Recycling and Waste

Location: Outer London (Hybrid – 1–2 days in the office per week)

Rate: £305 per day

Contract: 6 months consultancy contract, 3 days per week

We are looking for a passionate Campaign Manager who will provide strategic support and hands-on delivery to design and implement a major waste and recycling campaign.

This role is working with an outer London local government client, alongside Council stakeholders, residents and partners embedded in the local community.

You'll shape and support the delivery of a campaign to support Council’s objectives to increase recycling rates, reduce contamination and educate residents on food waste, textiles and e-waste.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, creative and knowledgeable in everyday marketing and communications activities with a hands-on approach to the role.  

We are looking for an excellent communicator, with lots of enthusiasm, who is ready to make a difference. You’ll use proven models like OASIS or ROSIE to guide strategy and apply insight, behavioural science and collaboration to maximise impact. 

Experience delivering behaviour changing campaigns for recycling and waste reduction will be a plus.

What you'll be doing:

• Plan and deliver integrated, insight-led, behaviour change communications campaigns for recycling and waste
• Use structured models like OASIS to guide campaign strategy, from objectives to evaluation
• Conceptualise, manage and deliver high profile campaign events
• Manage resources efficiently – overseeing budgets, timelines, and team or supplier contributions
• Work closely with the Campaigns Manager and contribute to the wider communications team
• Build strong partnerships with services and communities to co-create impactful content and messages
• Measuring communications, tracking performance, analysing results to optimise your approach.

What you'll bring:

• Significant experience leading or supporting communications or marketing campaigns. 
• Experience using structured campaign planning tools (e.g. OASIS, ROSIE, etc.). 
• Proven ability to manage budgets, and multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Strong storytelling and content creation skills across multiple channels. 
• A passion for social good and an understanding of the public sector, waste and recycling or climate change. 
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and across teams. 
• Experience using behavioural science methods and techniques in previous campaigns.
