The Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic
Kitchen Assistant / Canteen Cook to join our team and work closely with Site Services to provide freshly cooked, healthy meals for all staff.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a passion for food and nutrition, who thrives in a clean, well-organised kitchen and takes pride in meeting high standards of hygiene and service.
About The Position
- Shift: Monday to Friday
- Contract: Full-Time, Permanent position (Willing to consider Part-time 30 hours)
- Salary: £14.46 per hour
The day to day
- Prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals using fresh ingredients
- Ensure excellent food hygiene and cleanliness throughout kitchen and canteen areas
- Adhere to all current food safety guidelines and maintain accurate documentation
- Manage stock effectively, including accurate ordering and regular stock checks to avoid over/under ordering
- Replenish kitchen and staff areas as needed
The Essentials
- Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene and Food Preparation
- Proven experience working in a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of dietary requirements including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free diets
- Strong awareness of food safety and kitchen safety practices
- Ensure all kitchen and canteen facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Ensure all practices align with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards
