Job Description
The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
In this role you will support the assessment and implementation of new technologies, materials, and ways of working that reduce SPA’s carbon impact. You will work proactively to seek out innovations within the wider water industry and bring them into SPA, and you will be a recognised ‘go to’ person within SPA whenever new technologies, materials, or ways of working are identified.
This is a hybrid working from the SPA Office in Peterborough 2 times a week
Responsibilities
- Keep accurate record of innovation opportunities that have been considered and explored.
- Work with delivery teams to document lessons learned from innovation trials, enabling knowledge sharing and potential re-investigation of innovations that become more advanced.
- Establish feedback streams that enable identification of innovation opportunities within SPA.
- Attend innovation conferences and events to build your personal network, allowing cross-industry collaboration and increasing your awareness of the latest innovations within the water and construction industries.
- Create case studies and utilise internal communication channels to raise awareness of innovative work that has been achieved on SPA.
- Utilise external communication channels to showcase SPA’s innovation achievements within the wider water industry.
- Support the Carbon and Innovation Manager with modelling and reporting of carbon savings associated with each innovation that is introduced into SPA.
- Identify new ways to record and utilise our carbon data
Experience
- Experience in project management and carbon assessments.
- An understanding of relevant industry standards and directives and how we need to apply them in SPA i.e. PAS2080
- An understanding of the wider water industry innovation landscape i.e. OFWat Innovations
- An understanding of the wider corporate Net Zero landscape
