Job Overview
- To be responsible for a range of specialist assessments and diagnoses of individuals within the remote monitoring service using an advanced level of professional accountability, autonomy, and judgement, underpinned by nationally recognised qualification in Cardiac Device management, theory and experience. This includes highly complex decision-making across a broad range of differentiated and undifferentiated individual presentations and complex situations, synthesising information from multiple sources to make appropriate, evidence-based judgements and diagnoses.
- To promote and implement service and policy development and redesign, impacting beyond own area and other disciplines, informed by current best practice and evidence-base, in accordance with Good Scientific Practice (GSP) and values-based care.
- To play a key operational role and maintain a pro-active approach to managing, updating and leading clinical pathways. The post holder will possess excellent reasoning skills and sound judgement in identifying problems, generating solutions and reaching reasoned conclusions.
- In addition to supporting development in the Remote Monitoring Service, there will be a requirement to support other diagnostic areas within the department. The role will involve approximately 50:50 Clinical and Managerial work, supporting the department as required, with flexibility to ensure service provision continues adequately.

Remote Monitoring service physiology lead, to support, and optimise current service in order to provide a safe and effective service.
Act as a specialist within the field of cardiac Device follow up and implantation. Be a source of expert advice for staff, patients and carers.

Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience as Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist / Healthcare Scientist, competently performing simple and complex Cardiac Device implants and follow up, including remote monitoring as an independent practitioner.
- Expert understanding of all aspects of Cardiac Device Implant and Follow Up.
- Experience of training / mentoring junior staff and trainees, including to BHRS accreditation and further CPD development.
Management
Essential criteria
- Able to organize own tasks and activities including complex and routine procedures which may need adjustment daily.
- Good IT skills
- Excellent organisational skills.
