What is the opportunity?
Active Risk Management for front office in ETD business
To support the ETD business
- Maintenance and development of ALM desk tools
- Help the ALM team track, attribute and analyse its P&L effectively
- Help the ALM team manage its interest rate and liquidity risk effectively
- Play an active part in guiding the ETD’s system architecture to the desired end state
What will you be doing?
- Maintenance of existing ALM desk tools and produce effective desk tools to support the business development of the ALM desk, this includes the ability to develop necessary tools independently or provide appropriate instructions to development teams
- Produce accurate, granular and timely liquidity and interest rate risk reporting
- Produce accurate, granular and timely P&L reporting based on the team’s responsibilities
- Take an active part in the system enhancement projects for ETD, coordinating effectively with ALM management
- Effectively liaise with local and HO staff as required, including other businesses within the Mizuho Financial Group, Middle and Back Offices, Finance, Risk, Compliance and Audit
- Analyse operational risk and work effectiveness and plan system and workflow improvements to reduce costs and risk and increase productivity and profitability
- Work at all times within Mizuho’s internal policies and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements
What do you need to succeed? - Graduate in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience of working as a risk quant at a bank focused on methodology development and strategic risk projects
- Good understanding of pricing Interest Rate and Credit Products: Bonds (including Inflation Bonds, Callable and Convertible bonds), Securitised Products like CLOs, Interest Rate Futures, Interest Rate Swaps, Inflation Swaps, Swaps, XCcy Swaps, CDS, CDS Indices, Swaptions etc.
- Strong understanding of:
- Market Risk calculation methodologies for VaR, Stressed VaR, Risk Not in VaR, Specific Risk etc and new market risk capital regulations like FRTB.
- Counterparty Risk Calculation Methodologies for PFE, EPE, EAD etc.
- Flexibility and agility to contribute to a broad range of banking risk engagements.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively, with a practical solutions-driven approach
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance.
