Profile Summary
The Solutions (CIB) supports the relationship with Mizuho's core clients covered and strives to deliver financial solutions and products, as well as to distribute the Bank's products to investors.
Our sub departments include Project Finance & ECA Finance, Real Estate Finance and non-product focused teams such as Strategic Planning.
The Real Estate Finance team is responsible as the control office for the marketing and execution of Real Estate Finance transactions, such as Non-Recourse Loans and Subscription Facilities.
The Real Estate Finance team is also responsible for expanding the real estate infrastructure sponsor universe in conjunction with the sponsor coverage and corporate coverage.
Real Estate Finance transactions are structured finance value-added transactions which are tailored to address clients’ needs.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Solutions (CIB) and management team with the conceptualisation and implementation of Real Estate Finance strategy and business development, including new asset types and new geographies
- Responsible for credit approvals, and execution of individual deals, as well as for risk management (including mitigation plans) related to Real Estate Finance business.
- Drive deal cycle process, including origination, structuring, coordination with internal relevant parties, risk taking including internal credit approval, negotiation, execution, and transfer to Portfolio Management Team for monitoring
- Develop relationship with Real Estate Sponsors, Agents, Lenders, external legal firms, and other relevant market participants
- Expand the real estate infrastructure sponsor universe in conjunction with the sponsor coverage and corporate coverage.
- Establish distribution capabilities by co-working with the Syndications team
- Maximise revenue generation and return on risk capital
- Achieve individual and departmental revenue targets for each FY
- Lead, mentor, develop, advise and supervise Real Estate Finance team members to meet the team objectives
- Support as necessary Portfolio Management Team in monitoring and maintenance of the credit quality of loan portfolio, and if required coordinate risk mitigation
- Manage any central projects, investigations, audits etc on an adhoc basis as required
Qualifications, Skills, And Experience
- Extensive experience in banking sector, especially in Real Estate Finance, with demonstrable origination, structuring, negotiation, execution and monitoring skills.
- Strong structuring skills to scope underlying credit risk profile and adequately mitigate risk.
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
- Advanced computer literacy and presentation skills
- Ability to manage people in a positive and constructive manner
- One or more Continental European or relevant Asian languages.
- Strong decision-making skills to efficiently delegate tasks
- Foster the spirit of teamwork and cohesiveness across the team
- Motivate the team to complete tasks to a high standard
- Empower individuals to take responsibility for their goals

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
- Master’s or higher-level post-graduate degree e.g. PhD, MBA, desirable
