Cargo Inspector

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be someone with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a practical, hands-on approach to work. You may already have experience in the inspection or petrochemical industries, or you could be starting fresh and looking to learn. Most importantly, you’ll be ready to get stuck in, working flexible hours in a physically active role where safety, accuracy, and teamwork are key.

Key requirements:

• Valid driving licence
• Willingness to work unsociable and unpredictable hours
• Comfortable with the physical demands of the role
• Able to work independently and stay organised
• Strong communication and basic IT/numeracy skills
• Good problem-solving ability
• Experience in petrochemical or inspection work is beneficial but not essential

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This role is a vital part of our Caleb Brett operations, carrying out inspections on bulk liquid cargo to ensure quantity and quality requirements are met. You will work with clients and terminals to provide trusted verification of shipments and help maintain our high standards.

Key activities:

• Carrying out visual inspections, sampling, and volume/temperature measurements on cargo in tanks, pipelines, ships, barges, and more
• Supporting bulk liquid transfers and attending cargo movements
• Coordinating with terminal, transport, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
• Maintaining work areas and equipment in clean and functional condition
• Ensuring reports and data entries are accurate, valid, and traceable
• Following agreed operating procedures and safety standards
