Category Insights Manager

We’re working with a leading FMCG business to recruit a Category Insights Manager into their UK commercial team.

This role acts as the insight partner to Sales, Marketing and Shopper Marketing, shaping customer and channel strategies through data, shopper understanding and strong commercial storytelling. You’ll influence retailer plans, range decisions and promotional effectiveness across major UK retailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver category and shopper insights to identify growth opportunities
• Act as the expert interpreter of syndicated data, turning insight into clear recommendations
• Partner with Sales teams to shape customer strategies and trade plans
• Build compelling customer presentations for range reviews and merchandising recommendations
• Lead pre- and post-promotion analysis, sharing learnings across commercial teams
• Support best-in-class shopper execution and post-activity reviews

Backgrounds We’re Open To

• Category, insight or shopper roles within FMCG, retail or agency environments
• Candidates experienced in influencing without direct ownership

Skills & Experience

• Strong analytical capability with IRI, Kantar or equivalent
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to translate data into clear commercial narratives
• Solid understanding of the UK retail landscape (health & beauty exposure a plus)
