NHS Shared Business Services (NHSSBS) are seeking a credible procurement professional to join their Business Services team, if you have experience in category management then this role will offer you an opportunity to support in crafting the marketplace for our clients at a national level.

There will be a requirement to work from our modern collaborative office in Salford at least once a month. There will also be the occasional travel to our client sites.
What you will be doing:
- Leading on the development of the annual work plan and implementing policy, contributing to short and long-term category strategies.
- Identifying new areas for contracting and work with partners.
- Delivering a portfolio of projects as agreed with NHSSBS client partners, meeting expectations and timelines.
- Improving contract compliance and undertaking procurement activities in accordance with current public procurement legislation.
- Providing a procurement support function for clients and handling tender activity appropriate to category through to contract award.
- Taking the lead across a project portfolio as directed, building knowledge and expertise to become a subject matter expert.
What you will bring:
- Experience of PCR 2015, EU/UK regulations and company policies, Provider Selection Regime and the New Procurement Act 2023/2024 (essential).
- Experience of working in procurement, commissioning, bid writing or contract management team within the NHS/ Healthcare Sector/ Public Sector (essential).
- Knowledge and skill in procurement process, (scoping, briefing, tendering, selection, contract negotiation, including service level agreements, and management of supplier).
- Reporting and providing evidence to the procurement team of savings and benefits delivered through the effective management of the vendor base.
- Validated analytic skills (analysis of information, interpreting and presenting findings.
- CIPS level 4, working towards or willingness to achieve.

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
