Your role as a Catering Assistant:
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail and who will take pride in their work and are passionate about food and delivering great service for every customer and will proactively go out of their ways to exceed customer expectations.
Working within either a busy Catering Unit at University Park or at "The Club House" located in the David Ross Sports Village, you will be responsible for serving customers, using our tills and supporting with general cleaning within the area where you work to include working within the dishwash/potwash area and adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations, standards, policies, procedures and codes of practice.
As a member of our team, you will have a positive and energetic approach and be a colleague that the team look forward to working with and building strong relationships with others to accomplish tasks and shared goals. You will have an eye for detail and aim to deliver the exceptional operational standards required particularly at busy service times.

Available Positions
Post 1- Hours of work 25 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday including regular weekends) working a range of shifts on a rotational pattern between the hours 7.00am and 7.00pm for 30.6 weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Flexibility will be required. - Based at David Ross Sports Village
Post 2- Hours of work 20 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday with occasional weekends) working a range of shifts on a rotational pattern between the hours 10.00am and 7.30pm for 33 weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Flexibility will be required. - Based at Portland Building or Catering Unit in University Park
Post 3- Hours of work 20 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday might include occasional weekends) working between the hours 3.00pm-8.15pm for 33 weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Flexibility will be required. - Based at George Green Library or Catering Unit in University Park
Post 4- Hours of work 15 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday might include occasional weekends) working between the hours 5.00pm-8.15pm for 33 weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Flexibility will be required. - Based at George Green Library or Catering Unit in University Park
These positions will attract 20% pay uplift allowance for hours worked at the weekend.

Successful candidates for this position will be expected to attend statutory training courses and any refresher training required as part of the role. The department have planned training courses throughout the year and there is an option to attend either during a typical week, Monday to Friday or set weekend dates, Saturday and Sunday, within the year. Further details will be given at the interview.
