Head of Building Surveying – UK Estates Group

We are mandated by a UK Estates Group, a leading private property company with a diverse national portfolio, to recruit a Head of Building Surveying to lead the technical delivery and strategic development of surveying services across its office and mixed-use assets.
This is a high-profile, client-side leadership role where your building surveying expertise will directly influence asset performance, compliance, and long-term value.
Main Duties
- Lead the group-wide approach to dilapidations, ensuring consistency and expert guidance across all commercial assets.
- Oversee Reinstatement Cost Assessments, managing external consultants and ensuring accurate valuations for insurance purposes.
- Drive EPC compliance and sustainability initiatives, embedding best practice across the estate.
- Manage the procurement and performance of external building surveying and project management consultants.
- Deliver clear, insightful technical reports on asset condition, project progress, and risk for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of asset lifecycle strategies, ensuring long-term resilience and value.
To be considered
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS, RIBA, or CIOB) with 5+ years PQE in a commercial property environment.
- Strong technical background in building pathology, dilapidations, and contract administration.
- Experience managing multi-site portfolios in sectors such as office or mixed-use developments.
- Skilled in contract negotiation, consultant management, and procurement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
