The CHFP Social Media Assistant will support the CHFP Project Manager by leading the growth and day-to-day management of the social media channels for the
Cultural Heritage Framework Programme (CHFP) ( https://oceandecadechfp.org/about-chfp/ ) and, in particular, its official magazine
SeaVoice ( https://www.seavoice.online/ ). CHFP is a recognised Action of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030) and its magazine,
SeaVoice, tells stories at the intersection of culture, climate, and water.
This role will be responsible for the planning, creation, scheduling, and performance analysis of content across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and potentially TikTok), aiming to increase CHFP’s and
SeaVoice’s visibility, engagement, and storytelling reach. The role requires an understanding of the allocated workload, and the flexibility to conduct occasional administration related to CHFP activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, creative, and confident working independently to grow audiences, while aligning with CHFP’s broader mission to promote Ocean Heritage
This post is a guaranteed hours, fixed-term role, offering 85 hours between July and 31st December 2025. We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working
This is a guaranteed hours role, paid hourly, at Grade UE05: £29,179 - £33,482 per annum pro-rata as part-time (£15.99 - £18.35 per hour plus annual leave allowance at 18.1%).
Your Skills And Attributes For Success
- Working towards a degree in a related discipline (e.g. Archaeology, Marine Policy, Geosciences, Environment etc.).
- Previous experience growing and managing social media platforms, editing and posting multimedia outputs.
- Working knowledge of Word systems, processes and procedures including standard software packages.
- Interest in sharing ocean science with the general public.
