The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing body of thoroughbred horse racing in the UK. We are not only responsible for the regulation, integrity and administration of racing, but the safety and welfare of equine and human participants. Horse racing is the second largest spectator sport in the UK, behind only football, with over 14000 horses and around 1300 professional and amateur riders.
We are currently recruiting a Chief Medical Adviser (CMA), a senior member of the BHA leadership team, ahead of the current CMA’s departure. The CMA is responsible for shaping and leading medical provision and standards for jockeys across racing, keeping abreast of changes and ensuring we continuously deliver the highest level of care.
As the BHA’s senior medical expert the CMA engages with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, delivering clear guidance, messaging and education when needed.
It’s a genuinely exciting opportunity which will see you address current and future medical standards in an ever-changing landscape.
We’re looking for an experienced medical professional and natural leader who is comfortable in a high level, high-profile role.
Someone who can successfully lead and manage teams with excellent inter-personal skills.
