Chief People Officer
Location: London with travel across UK & Ireland
Shape and deliver the people strategy for a leading construction and engineering business.
This is a pivotal opportunity to join a specialist contractor delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK and Ireland. With expertise spanning structural works, demolition, fire protection and integrated services, the business operates in highly regulated environments on major infrastructure schemes – trusted to deliver with technical excellence and reliability.
As Chief People Officer, you’ll play a central role in enabling the company’s next phase of growth, with ambitions to become a £300m+ Tier 1 contractor. Reporting to the Board and leading a team of six, you will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of HR, organisational development, culture and workforce capability.
Balancing influence at board level with a strong presence across sites and teams, you’ll focus on addressing real workforce challenges – from attracting and retaining blue-collar talent, to developing site supervisors and managers, to creating career pathways accessible across the whole workforce. You will ensure HR is seen as a proactive partner to the business, bridging divides between office and site-based staff, PAYE and non-PAYE colleagues, and driving a culture of inclusion, accountability and fulfilment.
We are seeking a strategic HR leader with gravitas, credibility and commercial acumen. You’ll bring a proven track record of organisational development, workforce engagement and cultural alignment in complex operational environments – ideally construction, engineering or related sectors. Above all, you’ll combine strategic vision with a practical, people-first approach.
This is a career-defining opportunity to shape the people agenda for an employee-owned business with a proud history and clear vision for the future.
