An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Childcare Officer to join our team in Honley School Daycare part of Honley CE (VC) Junior, Infant & Nursery School.
The successful applicant will work
26.5 hours per week, all year round, with the following working pattern:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: Shifts between 7:30am – 6:00pm on a rota basis, example shifts 7.30am-3.30pm/8.30am-4.30pm/10am-6pm etc, not necessarily following a pattern (Wednesday is a 4-hour shift)
- Potential to increase hours to include a Friday following service needs and demand in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the effective day-to-day operation of the childcare setting.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Contribute to planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS and organisational policies.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Work with current officer, deputy and manager in a leadership role and step up in absences as required.
- Take a leading role as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Daycare setting.
- Have keyholder responsibilities.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds relevant childcare qualifications (minimum Level 3 or equivalent).
- Has experience in taking a leading role in an early years setting.
- Has experience working within a childcare or early years setting for a minimum of 2 years.
- Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills.
- Is flexible, motivated, and able to adapt to changing needs.
- Has a positive, child-centred approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
