An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative and committed Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, based at our Denmark Hill site. This post is 6-month Maternity Leave cover.
If you are a dynamic individual who wants to develop in your clinical skills in as a specialist nurse and have a passion for improving services, we would like to hear from you.
The post holder will work autonomously helping to further develop nurse-led services alongside a wide multidisciplinary team whilst also supporting more junior members of the team.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate high standards in clinical care, have sound management skills and have the ability to improve quality and patient satisfaction. You will be flexible, organised, resilient and able to meet the challenges and demands of a busy and diverse clinical service.
Significant clinical experience and expertise in HIV nursing and Sexual Health is necessary for this post.
- To work as an advanced practitioner and effectively deliver an expert nursing service within the paediatric and adult HIV services.
- To manage a caseload of patients both paediatric and adult.
- To coordinate the smooth running of the family and adolescent clinics
- To assist in the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines.
- To establish clear lines of communication with the HIV team to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients
- To link with healthcare teams in order to increase knowledge and facilitate the care of young people in the community
- To take responsibility for identifying areas for audit and research; to carry our audit and research and to present and translate the application of research to practice development.
- To provide advanced level, autonomous nursing care to patients with HIV – to include diagnosis and treatment of STI’s and related conditions. To utilise advanced knowledge and skills and undertake stable patient management, across sites, as well as supporting emergency clinics.
