We are excited to offer an opportunity for a qualified band 5, who is a motivated and enthusiastic nurse with excellent communication skills and good organisational skills who can deliver evidence based nursing care to children at home. Trafford Children’s Community Nursing team support children in the community with acute and chronic conditions and work closely with other members of the multi disciplinary team. You will be part of a forward thinking, friendly team and you will be supported to develop professionally.
The post holder will be working within the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT), with dedicated support from Community Specialist Practitioners. By developing knowledge and skills by working with CCNT, the post holder will then later be supported to gain their Specialist Community Specialist Practitioner qualification.
Operational hours of the service are Monday to Sunday, 08.00am – 10pm, including Bank Holidays. Applicants must have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
Clinical
Demonstrate that all delivery of care complies with the Trust’s clinical policies and guidelines.
Promote clinical excellence through the principle of the Trust’s philosophy and the implementation of the nursing strategy.
Take a supporting role in ensuring the compliance of quality assurance initiatives with agreed clinical standards.
Adopt a multi-disciplinary team approach to children’s community health care.
Ensure that full use is made of the ability to develop the role of the nurse in accordance with requirements of clients, the service and the NMC.
Prescribe treatment for patients/clients for conditions within their clinical competence, relevant qualification and the remit of the service.
Personnel
Participate in the induction and orientation programmes for newly appointed staff.
Undertake appraisals for junior staff
Education and Training
Support the team in maintaining an appropriate learning environment to meet the education and development needs of all staff, including students.
Ensure awareness of the measures to safeguard patients’ rights and confidentiality.
