Civils Project Manager - Nuclear

The Position: Civils Project Manager

Vulcain Engineering UK is expanding and we are looking for a Project Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of major civil engineering works within the Nuclear Island programme. This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest and most exciting infrastructure projects, working at the forefront of clean energy development.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Civils Project Manager will include:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary delivery team, including civil construction, engineering, scheduling, cost and quality functions.
• Develop and maintain an integrated construction schedule, identifying risks and mitigating delays.
• Coordinate with supply chain partners, project managers, commissioning teams and regulators to ensure delivery readiness.
• Manage interfaces across disciplines and contracts, driving constructability and efficiency.
• Oversee procurement, contract delivery and progress against time, cost and quality requirements.
• Identify, escalate and resolve critical issues affecting delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned across the programme.

Preferred Profile:

Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

• Degree in engineering, construction or related discipline.
• Strong track record in project management on major projects (civil engineering or EPCM).
• Experience across design, procurement, contract management and field execution.
• Proficiency with Earned Value tools, cost/schedule control, risk and change management.
• Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification.
• Formal project management certification.
• Previous experience within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors.
• Reside locally to London or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
