About The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join Citynet as a wholesale Claims Handler. The ideal candidate will have a substantial experience in claims handling, with London Market insurance knowledge being advantageous but not essential.
In this pivotal role, you will deliver a high-quality claims service to Citynet’s Agents and Insurers, ensuring that customers are treated fairly throughout all transactions and correspondence. Your expertise will help foster client loyalty and contribute to the ongoing success of our company.
You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of claims, with a focus on but not limited to; Liability (EL, PL), Professional Indemnity, Property, Contractors All Risks (CAR), and Goods in Transit.
This role is based from our Chelmsford office, with occasional travel to our London office required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full claims process from notification to settlement, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant resolution across various claim types (Liability, Professional Indemnity, Property, CAR, Goods in Transit).
- Maintain proactive communication and strong relationships with clients, insurers, and stakeholders, providing updates and negotiating fair settlements.
- Oversee claims settlements, fee payments, and documentation, including ECF/CLASS processing and monthly bordereaux, while instructing solicitors/adjusters as needed.
- Report significant or complex claims to the Claims Manager and support departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience & Attributes
- Substantial experience in Claims Handling, and knowledge of liability and property policies and procedures, is essential for this role.
- London Market insurance knowledge, including proficiency in the use of ECF/CLASS system for claims processing, and previous experience at a wholesale broker is desirable but not essential.
- Cert CII qualification is desirable but not essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organised and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
