Clerk Of Works, Highways Maintenance Team
We have an opportunity for an experienced detail-oriented clerk of works to join our contract monitoring team in our Highways Maintenance department.
Your role will involve inspecting, monitoring and reporting on contractor performance for the largest highways PFI contract in the UK ensuring that works meet our standards and specifications.
You will play a key role in monitoring and reporting contract delivery, working with colleagues across operational areas to understand performance and will support continuous improvement through innovation and new approaches. You’ll have a customer-focused mindset, ensuring a quality service to the people of Sheffield and co-operative and productive working with your colleagues and strategic partners.
About You
You’ll have experience of undertaking site inspections, audits and advising contractors on designs/specifications and ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements.
You’ll be able to produce clear, concise reports and keep accurate records of activity.
You’ll be able to build strong and effective relationships with our contractor, customers and colleagues.
You’ll be able to organise your workload, prioritising to meet deadlines, and working co-operatively with your colleagues to ensure timely and high-quality performance.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
