Client and Matter Management Analyst
Based in Edinburgh
JOB PURPOSE
To work as a member of the client and matter management team helping achieve the departments objectives of providing an efficient and effective service to partners and colleagues. The successful candidate will ensure effective client and matter risk controls and procedures are followed when new clients and matters are being set up. The role falls within the wider finance practice area and requires someone with good communication skills and able to work to tight deadlines and deliver effectively under pressure. You will provide crucial administrative support ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the tasks within the team. The role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
CORE TASKS
- Assessing new client and matter data information through the client and matter onboarding system
- Review and assess any potential conflicts of all potential new clients and new matters take-on and highlighting those clients and matters where there is believed a conflict may exist.
- Ensure that all new and standing data for new and existing clients and matters are set up accurately and consistently
- Ensure that the firms client identification and verification procedures and client and matter risk assessments have been fully complied with for all new and ongoing clients and matters and that all necessary documentation is properly filed
- Ongoing monitoring of existing clients
- Consider each new client’s risk assessment of potential new and existing clients and matters
- Ensure that all letters of engagement have been sent in all situations where required
- Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required
- Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference at all times

SKILLS
- Previous knowledge and understanding of Anti Money Laundering Regulations preferred
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail
- Can demonstrate experience of working successfully in a challenging environment
- Adopts a flexible and proactive approach to work duties
- Works as part of a team to provide an effective service to the practice area and the firm
- Organises and prioritises time effectively to achieve deadlines within a busy environment
- Presents a professional image and provide a high-quality service to partners and colleagues at all times
- Competence with all IT applications and seeks out opportunities to enhance IT literacy through training
- Previous experience in a similar role within a professional services/finance service business is preferred
