Client and Matter Management Analyst
Based in Edinburgh
JOB PURPOSE
To work as a member of the client and matter management team helping achieve the departments objectives of providing an efficient and effective service to partners and colleagues. The successful candidate will ensure effective client and matter risk controls and procedures are followed when new clients and matters are being set up. The role falls within the wider finance practice area and requires someone with good communication skills and able to work to tight deadlines and deliver effectively under pressure. You will provide crucial administrative support ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the tasks within the team. The role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
CORE TASKS
- Assessing new client and matter data information through the client and matter onboarding system and ensuring that all new and standing data for new and existing clients and matters are set up accurately and consistently
- Data cleansing and monitoring, correcting data inaccuracies to ensure consistency within the firms practice management system
- Ensure that all necessary potential conflict checks have been carried out for new and ongoing clients and matters and the available data information relating to potential conflicts have been reviewed and escalated for approval in situations where a conflict may exist
- Carrying out additional conflict checks out with the client and matter opening process and reverting with the results in a timely manner to enable legal colleagues to make decisions about taking on new work
- Be aware of the firm’s client identification and verification policy and procedures
- Ongoing monitoring of existing client’s data and financial status and communicating any changes to the client partner
- Ensure that all letters of engagement have been sent in all situations where required
- Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required
- Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference at all times

- Previous experience in a similar role within a professional services/finance service business is preferred
