About The Job

The Client Development Director plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing Louis Vuitton clienteling strategy for UK, Ireland and South Africa, ensuring a client-centric culture across all touchpoints. This is a temporary maternity cover position for a period of 6 - 12 months.

As a member of the Steering Committee, this highly visible and strategic role is responsible for driving long-term client engagement, developing our high-value private clients, driving CRM and leading a high-performing Client Development team in alignment with business goals. This leader will work in close partnership with Retail, Merchandising, Communication and Digital teams and well as all the Store network to elevate the client experience, drive recruitment and retention, and build a sustainable, high-impact clienteling ecosystem.

1. Strategic Leadership & Clienteling Strategy

  • Define and lead the clienteling vision for UK, Ireland and South Africa, in line with the global positioning and guidelines, focusing on client development by managing client lifecycle to drive brand loyalty and generate value.
  • Develop and implement a multi-tiered client development strategy tailored to different client segments, from one timer clients to top-tier prestige clients.
  • Set KPIs and performance standards for client acquisition, retention, and engagement, ensuring alignment with commercial and brand objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and emerging client trends and translate insights into actionable strategies, tools, and campaigns to future-proof client development.
  • Partner with EMEA and Global Teams to ensure consistency and excellence in client strategy execution across markets.
  • Be a key stakeholder and an active contributor of the UKIRSAF SteerCo, work collaboratively with all key departments and Stores to drive valuable growth of the business.

Job responsibilities

2. CRM Ownership and Data-Driven Growth

  • Lead the evolution of the CRM, through in depth understanding of client segmentation and insights to build strategies and activation.
  • Establish clear goals, growth plans, set and define CRM KPIs, ensure the teams have in depth understanding of them and are equipped in tools to achieve them.
  • Leverage data and advanced analytics to understand client behaviour, define strategic opportunities, and refine targeting and personalization efforts.
  • Monitor and support the stores in their CRM performance, ensuring all tools are being used to drive qualitative and productive clienteling practices, establish CRM best practices and training programmes.
  • Work on improving client segmentation, profiling and targeting for any action in order to improve ROI.
  • Review client lists, ensure appropriate allocation of clients amongst team members and transitions occur with leavers.

3. Private Clients Development

  • Design and oversee the private client strategy, including bespoke experiences, events, gifting to grow VIC, VVIC and Prestige client segments.
  • Leverage international events and local events (High Jewellery, High Watch Making, Fashion Shows) to increase the share of High End.
  • Build long-term relationships with UHNWIs through a tailored client approach, enhancing client loyalty and brand advocacy.
  • Nurture and develop relationships with third-party businesses to generate additional business, with a key focus on high potential and high net worth clients
  • Work closely with clienteling teams in stores, Private Ambassadors to identify, cultivate, and grow private client communities locally and internationally.
  • Co-lead the Global Ambassador Program for the region, build the community of top local talent leveraging all international events and trainings.

4. Build a Clienteling Culture Across the Organization

  • Champion a client-first mindset across the organization, ensuring every team embraces the value of long-term client relationships.
  • Lead the creation and roll-out of engaging training programs and workshops that build skills, motivation, and consistency in client development.
  • Partner with HR, Learning & RPM to embed clienteling into onboarding, performance management, and career progression frameworks.
  • Activate internal culture-building campaigns that celebrate client success stories and best practices, fostering recognition and continuous improvement.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Store Directors and frontline retail teams to embed clienteling excellence at the store level, tailoring local strategies based on market and client insights.

5. Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Client Development team, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to develop a best-in-class Client Development team, inspiring a service-minded, collaborative and entrepreneurial approach to client engagement.
  • Define the team structure, roles, and responsibilities in alignment with business priorities, ensuring clear ownership, agility and empowerment
  • Establish individual and team goals and objectives; as well as growth plans and development paths to develop internal talent and elevate the team performance
  • Regularly assess team performance and engagement through structured feedback, goal setting, and development reviews.
  • Grow and develop the team, encouraging an innovative approach and collective learning.

Profile

To be successful in this you, it is essential that you have a significant track record of working in a client development role in the luxury environment and have an extensive network and understanding of the wider luxury industry. With a strong ethos for team collaboration you will be an innovative solutions focused individual with the drive to exceed our customer expectations and continue to elevate our brand image within the market place. With an in-depth knowledge of the client experience and expectations within the luxury sector, you will have strong commercial acumen and thrive working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
