What you’ll be doing:
We are seeking a senior leader to join the Client Function within the Client, Communications and Marketing (CCM) division, reporting to the Client Director. This is a standalone but highly influential role, responsible for leading the development, enhancement, and oversight of SJP’s client governance framework across the Group. It is critical to our aim of delivering exceptional outcomes for clients while meeting the highest standards of regulatory compliance and risk management.
The role requires cross-functional leadership and advocacy to embed client-focused governance, ensure compliance with Consumer Duty and other relevant regulations, and shape decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and oversee the Group’s client governance framework to align with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Own and evolve SJP’s Client Policy and Vulnerable Client Policy, ensuring effective implementation across the firm.
- Represent the Client Director at key Board meetings, committees, and working groups.
- Drive the development of client-focused management information and reporting, including Consumer Duty and vulnerable client outcomes.
- Champion a culture of client-centricity through leadership, communication, and training initiatives.
- Support senior executive decision-making with data-driven insights and analysis.
- Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders on client governance matters.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a collaborative and credible senior leader with a strong understanding of client governance, excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, and a proven ability to influence at the highest levels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services, particularly in wealth management or financial advice, and bring a passion for ensuring excellent client outcomes. You will need to be highly skilled at navigating complexity and ambiguity, driving cultural change, and inspiring confidence across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Skills & Experience: Essential
- Extensive experience in senior governance roles within financial advice or wealth management.
- Deep understanding of Consumer Duty, vulnerable client treatment, and the UK regulatory framework for retail financial services.
- Strong track record of designing and embedding governance frameworks that deliver good consumer outcomes.
- Demonstrable leadership and stakeholder influence, with experience in cross-functional and cross-entity governance.
- Proven ability to interpret and implement regulatory change effectively.
Desirable
- Familiarity with client-focused management information and reporting methods.
- Experience working with internal audit, compliance monitoring, and assurance teams.
- An understanding of wider client and regulatory trends impacting the financial advice sector.
