This key role is essential to the overall management of the operating theatre.
It is integral to the delivery of safe, effective theatre services and implementing robust quality assurance processes across our dynamic operating theatre environments. Expertise in the Operating Theatre environment is essential.
This role will be key to providing clinical leadership in the absence of the theatre manager ensuring continuous and consistent operational efficiency, assisting in the recovery programme for patients
As Clinical Lead, you will drive continuous improvements in patient safety, operational efficiency, and clinical quality, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
Your leadership will be central to aligning clinical standards with operational performance to ensure a responsive, efficient, and patient-focused theatre service.
Flexibility is required to provide coverage in the absence of the PRH Clinical Lead, Theatre Manager, and Coordinator. As part of the Band 7 team, you will provide clinical support, including covering both sites when needed. Collaboration with various teams will be essential due to changes in patient care service delivery and HTP.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement safety and quality assurance processes in line with national and local standards.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within theatres.
- Oversee incident, complaint, and near-miss reviews, ensuring timely action and learning integration.
- Ensure compliance with clinical regulations, including infection control and patient safety standards.
- Develop and deliver targeted training to improve care quality and theatre efficiency.
- Provide expert guidance on safety and quality assurance to theatre staff.
- Collaborate with senior leaders on strategic planning, service development, and improvement initiatives.
