To support the Band 7 Emergency Care Practice Educator(s) to implement an education and staff development plan for the Emergency Department within the Emergency & Acute Medicine
Directorate of ABUHB. To ensure service delivery is of a high professional standard in line with Local Organisational and National Guidelines. The post holder will ensure service delivery is of a high professional standard that is in line with ABUHB policies and values.
As a professional nurse the Clinical Practice Educator is responsible for the provision of specialist, knowledge, support and assistance requiring a high degree of dexterity, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients, nursing and medical staff. The post holder is required to support and maintain an effective environment for learning within the Emergency
Department through coaching, and staff development in a variety of settings.
The post holder will adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct (2018).
Main duties of the job

To work alongside the Band 7 Practice Educator(s) to formulate a bespoke plan for meeting clinical educational needs of individuals or a group of individuals.
To work alongside the Emergency Department nurses clinically to provide education within
their environment following a National Competency program.
To work alongside newly appointed staff (including newly qualified) to the Emergency
Department and established nursing colleagues to identify the knowledge skills gap of individuals. Provide feedback to those individuals and the education team to collaboratively formulate and deliver plans to meet individual needs.
To work with the Practice Educator(s) to formulate a bespoke plan for meeting clinical educational needs of individuals or a group of individuals
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
