We are looking to recruit a full time Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our busy and friendly S-CAMHS service in Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The successful candidate will spend 0.5wte in our developing ARFID service for young people, providing a psychology perspective and engaging in assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation. The other 0.5wte is in our Schools In Reach and Primary Mental Health Worker Service, alongside our existing clinical psychologist and assistant psychologists, who are well embedded into this well established service.
The ARFID role will cover the whole of the Health Board footprint whilst we plan to allocate a specific geographical area and SIRS/PMHWS team for the SIRS/PMHWS role. The role will be based in Carmarthen. A small reduction in hours may be considered for those candidates requesting part time hours.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of Psychology within the multi-disciplinary ARFID Team. This will involve providing a psychology perspective and engaging in assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.
Training for the wider S-CAMHS service to share specialist knowledge and skills will also be important. There will be opportunities to contribute to the shaping of this new and exciting service. Our SIRS/PMHWS is well established with Psychology a valued profession at its centre.
Clinical duties will include direct clinical work with young people and their families, providing supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists and providing training and consultation to colleagues within the service. The Schools In Reach Service role, centres around providing consultation and training to our colleagues in other agencies and Education in particular. Research and project work is valued and Psychology is involved in several exciting developments.
We have 3 SIRS/PMHWS Teams across the health board footprint and the plan is for the successful candidate to work in one of these three teams and they will have the excellent support from the colleague already in post.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
