We are seeking a motivated clinical scientist to join the MR & US Physics groups within the Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, for a fixed term period of 12 months. This is a new opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience of MR & US physics within healthcare, to contribute to the development and improvement of a wide range of advanced MR techniques supporting a comprehensive clinical service. With the expansion of MR & US services regionally through the current Community Diagnostic Centres programme, we expect a permanent position to become available during this fixed-term duration.
The post holder will work in the MRI & US physics groups of Radiation Physics, led by the Head of Non-ionising Imaging Physics, to help achieve this. This includes contributing to the provision of specialist scientific support of complex issues covering MR safety advice, MR & US quality assurance programmes, assessment of image artefacts, optimisation of image quality and protocols, related image analysis, working in multi-disciplinary teams, advising on equipment management, and maintaining related documentation. The post holder would be expected to develop advanced knowledge in a speciality of MRI, and a broad knowledge of current US systems and techniques.
