We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, experienced senior nurse to join our Children's Continuing Care Team based in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and take on the role of Clinical Specialist and Strategic Lead Children’s Continuing Care.
This is an exciting time to join our friendly, supportive and driven nursing team and play an active role in service development. As a senior nurse the successful candidate will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team including Case Managers and Nurse Assessors, overseeing the Children Continuing Care assessment quality, decision-making processes, and ensuring compliance with policy, as well as the commissioning Children’s Continuing Care (CCC) packages, including negotiating and collaborating with Local Authority partners.
The successful candidate needs to possess an in depth understanding of the Children and Young People’s Continuing Care Framework (Welsh Government 2020) and be able to manage a diverse and complex caseload of children and young people who have complex needs arising from Mental Health and or a Learning Disability by working collaboratively with families and members of the multi-professional and multi-agency team, providing oversight of the assessment and provision of seamless, integrated care for children and young people who are eligible for Continuing Care.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the joint commissioning of individual packages of Children’s Continuing Care (CCC). This includes Special Placements for children and young people with a Mental Health, Learning Disability or Neurodiversity. Lead and manage a diverse team of staff including, Case Managers and Nurse Assessor. To oversee the quality assurance of Children's Continuing Care assessment and decision making in line with the relevant national frameworks and Children's Continuing Care operational policy. To actively work to support the attainment of outcome targets/goals under the Children's Continuing Care process.
To work closely with the Business Partner Accountant to model, monitor and manage Children's Continuing Care spend and ensure delivery of care package cost as agreed. To have delegated authority to negotiate with partners in terms of joint commissioning of packages. To ensure development of strong governance and clinical governance processes, including appropriate input to the safeguard and protection of children and young people. To support the development and review of local policies, systems and processes around CCC, linked to the relevant key national and local priorities. To deputise for the service lead in the provision of advice on national guidance and local implications to the ICB Governing Body.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional registration (NMC, HCPC etc)
- Post Graduate (Masters level) degree or career demonstrable experience of working in a highly complex clinical or managerial role
- Teaching, Mentorship or Coaching experience
- Child Protection training and experience
