Job Summary
This post is specifically for a Clinical Support Worker who will predominantly work with the Phlebotomy team provided by the Emergency Department.
The band 3 Clinical Support Worker role in the Emergency Department also extends to ensuring patient's well being within the department, delivery of basic nursing care and using additional clinical skills such as undertaking of observations and some investigations such as ECGs in order to maintain safety and provide an enhanced and appropriate patient journey.
We are looking for caring, reliable, well-motivated people who are looking to develop their emergency care skills, working in a fast paced and ever evolving environment.
Applicants should hold NVQ Level 3 in healthcare as a minimum requirement experience working within an Emergency Department or other relevant experience is required.
Skills in a Health care assistant role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting the Department team in providing the highest possible standard of care for patients and their families/carer.
The post holder will undertake a range of tasks and duties as delegated by a registered nurse.

General housekeeping duties such as stocking of basic equipment within your role.

Obtaining specimens from patients for ward or laboratory testing.
